Turkey turkey turkey

Today is Finn and Charlie day. Today's strip comes not out of some kind of reality, but entirely out of my fertile brain. As these characters coalesce in my brain they become less and less like me and Eric, which is a good thing. They get a real life of their own.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone

My driveway was finished the Friday after Thanksgiving, and now I'm parking in STYLE. Oooh, it's fabulous. My mother came to town and we had a nice low-key weekend after Thursday's food-fest.

I'll post driveway pics soon...

More Hitched. Remember: this is fiction. Today's story has not happened to me and Eric. Seriously. Unlike the chicken carcasses.

Hot Hot Hot

More Finn and Charlie.

Truth be told, I'm not happy with that second panel. Since Charlie's word bubble is above his head, I've decided his face should reflect the end of the quote, and not the beginning. Even though it's all in one frame, there's a kind of temporal flow across it, top left to bottom right. You'll see what I mean.

Driveway

So this morning I was on my way into work when the driveway contractor called to say that they had the work permit and were on their way in right then.

So I went into work work and retrieved my computer and came home to work here and answer questions. This meant I was working while they jackhammered away outside.

But anyway, the upshot is this: the work has begun! The old cement has been broken up, and is partly hauled off. The new curb was cut. The old fences have been hauled off. Work proceeds apace!

How exciting is that?

Adventures in the blogosphere

Just discovered this blog posting

Notice the name of the post... "Hey little bird, fly away home" — the name of my own post from this Monday. Now scroll down to the bottom of the page (ignoring everything else):

Holly Cole: Ev'rything I've Got / Don't Smoke in Bed The Gothic Archies*: The World is a ... Quasar Wut Wut: Enola Gay / Taro Sound Thunderbirds Are Now!: Panthers in Crime / Make ... XTC: Generals & Majors / Waxworks: Singles 1977-1982 ...

This is an excerpt from my Monday playlist, with the words "Holly", "Gay", and "Singles" made bold. (OK, "Gay" and "Singles" I kind of get, give the name of the plagiarizing blog, but "Holly"?)

I find this odd, and a little disturbing. More disturbing that my strange comment post I mentioned before.

And while on the subject of that, I just was looking at my post about the "completely out-there" comment (that is, the post linked just now), and I saw that one of my Google ads was "Get Ann Coulter's column free". I perused the text to see what could possibly be matching Ann Coulter. I think it must have been the sentence "COMPLETELY out-there woo-hoo insane."

The World Moves on a Woman's Hips

Today's show at its regular time.

We are having antenna problems and are reaching maybe 10% of the normal audience. It's a little discouraging to feel like no one's listening, though I'm sure people were.

My life

At the moment my life seems to be Radio, Driveway, Comic, Repeat. Throw in Opera and Elections for good measure.

Also I baked an apple, which is downstairs waiting for me. I hope it's good!

There is driveway progress, which I will speak of soon when I am less fearful of jinxing it.

Oh, and I think I haven't shared this yet: I build a website for my friend Nancy's shop, Bagel Art, in Evanston. The bagels are delicious, too; absolutely loaded with seeds. Yum!

I am officially no longer a DJ at WLUW. Long story.

However, the Chicago Independent Radio Project will have a webcast soon, and I'll be a part of that. And we can still talk about music... leave me a comment if there's something on your mind.
