Rockin'
It's been a while since I've posted... not that I've had nothing to say or show, but just that I haven't had the time to sit down and do it.
But here's an easy thing to show, since it doesn't involve scanning:
I made a couple of flyers for WLUW. The first is a general station flyer which is conceivably being passed out after concerts around town right now! I did it all in Illustrator without the benefit of a graphics tablet, and I think all things considered it looks pretty good. (Though my next submission will be hand-drawn and inked... I'm planning on something involving a Chinese good-fortune cat, the kind you see as part of a shrine in the corner of a Chinese restaurant.)
So here's my general flyer, Rock Chick Rocks Out:
The second flyer was for the show Think Pink, the one I submitted a posted for earlier. Either they didn't like the poster, or it just wasn't what they were looking for... that's fine, the real point of that poster was just for me to make it and show it to someone. Anyway, the folks at Think Pink had a logo created somewhere, and said they wanted a flyer that used the logo and certain text. This came back to me with a request to maybe churn something out that could be used in a few days. So I created this in maybe 1/2 hour, and if anyone in Chicago went to the Reeling Film Festival two weeks ago, they just might have been given one of these puppies.
I'll post some actual sketches later.
In the meantime, enjoy this photo I took of a dahlia in a vase Eric made:
The dahlia came from Barb at the farmer's market... the picture is from mid-October. There are no more local flowers to be had anywhere, but it's nice, as we descend into December, to remember when they were around.

Both flyers look great! (although I liked the cartoon too)
And very nice vase, Eric.
Happy Thanksgiving to you both.
